The Gospel VS. The Gospel of The Kingdom

by P. Roger Jordan

What is the Gospel?
The Bible is a book of Good News. For Christians, the Good News is that Jesus came to this world. He brought a message of hope to all people. Later, He would die on the Cross to save people from their sins. In fact, the word gospel is an old English word that means “glad tidings” or “good news.” The basic Gospel message is that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, He was buried, and He rose again. In its narrowest sense, the Gospel can be summarized in the message of John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
The Gospel requires a response of faith in Jesus Christ.
All who welcome Jesus Christ as Lord of their lives are reborn spiritually, receiving new life from God. Through faith in Christ, this new birth changes us from the inside out rearranging our attitudes, desires, and motives. Just as being born makes you physically alive and places you in your parents’ family (John 1:13). Being born of God makes you spiritually alive and puts you in God’s family (John 1:12). Have you asked Christ to make you a new person? This fresh start in life is available to all who believe in Christ. To know that, all one must do is accept the only one who was willing to die in our place for our sins and His name is Jesus. This is simply the Good News. “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned,” Mark 16:15-16 KJV. Jesus is good news because He is the only escape from the portals of Hell and the Lake of Fire. Jesus is good news to all who accept Him into their lives. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me,” John 14:6 KJV.
What is the Gospel of the Kingdom?
Jesus never commissioned anyone to preach the Gospel without also commanding them to minister healing and deliverance. He told them “As you go…heal the sick, cast out demons . . .”The Gospel must be preached and taught, but it must also include the demonstration of the Kingdom of God in action. Jesus told His followers:“. . . as ye go, preach saying, the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils; freely ye have received, freely give,” Matthew 10:7-8 KJV. The message of the Kingdom is not in words only. The demonstration of God’s power must accompany the verbal presentation of the Gospel. This was evident in the example set by Jesus: “And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people,” Matthew 9:35 KJV. “And the people when they knew it, followed Him: and He received them, and spake unto them of the Kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing,” Luke 9:11 KJV. The demonstration of power–miracles and healing–is the Kingdom of God in action. It is to be part of the message of evangelism. Paul said:
“For the Kingdom of God is not in word, but in power,” I Corinthians 4:20 KJV. Jesus said:“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you,” Luke 10:19 NKJV. The Gospel of the Kingdom is the manifested power of God in action in the earth. This reveals to the world that God has the power to heal the sick, raise the dead, and destroy every plan of Satan in a person’s life. Regardless of what it maybe, suicide, voices in your head, demonic possession etc. Jesus has the ultimate power, and everything must bow to His authority. Hallelujah! Understand that it is not OK to only want healing, miracles, signs and wonders in your life or even a prophetic word from a prophet.

If you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior by believing the Gospel of Jesus, you are still lost with your healing or prophetic word. What is the point of only being healed or having someone prophecy to you and you are still on your way to  HELL? It makes no sense all must accept Jesus as savior and live for Him. Have you accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior today?

The bible says: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness,” 1 John 1:9 KJV.

Today is the day to accept Jesus because tomorrow is not promised to us. Dying is not the worst thing that can happen to a person, but dying without a Savior who is Jesus, would be the worst thing that can happen to a person.

Give him your life by simply saying this prayer below.

Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner and have done many things that are displeasing in your sight. Forgive me of all my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I believe that you died and rose triumphantly from the grave and that you Live. Lord live in me today. I give you 100% of me in Jesus name Amen.

If you said that prayer, find a true bible-based church that teaches how to be a follower (disciple) of Jesus and live for him for the rest of your life. God Bless you.
